Watersheds Canada has offered an amazing opportunity to Lakes in our area of Hastings County to participate in a Fish Habitat Enhancement Program. Wollaston Lake and other member lakes like Baptiste, Lake St. Peter and Diamond Lake are starting into the phases of Fish Habit Enhancement. This will be led by Watersheds Canada who have obtained approval from the MNRF to proceed.
We are looking for volunteers for a couple hours to build Brush Bundles which will provide habitat for small fish providing them shelter and breeding grounds. We welcome anyone who is interested in the project, lake health, fish habitat and the overall ecosystem of Wollaston lake.We will be meeting on Thursday September 12th, 1:30 pm at the public boat launch on Wollaston lake road. With the help of Watersheds Canada we will work together on this project.
