The Wollaston Lake Home and Cottage Association is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to protecting the environmental health, recreational enjoyment, and community interests of Wollaston Lake. Through stewardship, education, advocacy, communication, and community engagement, the WLHCA works to preserve and enhance the lake experience for residents, cottagers, visitors, and future generations.
WLHCA - About the Association
The WLHCA brings together people who share a commitment to the continued care and enjoyment of Wollaston Lake. Our members and volunteer Board work collaboratively to address matters affecting the lake, share important community information, support environmental initiatives, and encourage responsible enjoyment of the water and surrounding landscape.
Membership support helps the Association undertake water-quality sampling, environmental programs, educational initiatives, communications, community activities, and other projects that contribute to the long-term well-being of Wollaston Lake.
The Association has also supported opportunities for lake residents to participate directly in environmental observation and stewardship, including the Observers of Wollaston Lake program described in the Association’s welcome package.
The WLHCA is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors elected by the Association’s membership. Board members contribute their time, knowledge, and experience to support the Association’s activities, respond to member concerns, communicate important information, and represent the interests of the Wollaston Lake community. The work of today's Board builds upon the contributions of the many volunteers and Association leaders who have supported the Wollaston Lake community over the years.

WLHCA Members at Large bring additional community perspectives to the Board and help support the Association’s programs, projects, and decision-making. About Wollaston Lake
Wollaston Lake is located near the Hamlet of Coe Hill in Wollaston Township, Ontario. Surrounded by forested landscapes, natural shoreline, wildlife, and a close-knit rural community, the lake is enjoyed by permanent residents, seasonal residents, families, anglers, boaters, and visitors.
The lake is approximately four miles long and covers approximately 897 acres. It has a maximum depth of 31.1 metres and a mean depth of 9.4 metres.
Wollaston Lake is commonly described as having three connected basins:
- Main Lake
- Second Lake, also known as Ferguson Bay
- Third Lake
The lake supports fish species including Bass, Lake Trout, and Northern Pike. Approximately 10% of the surrounding lake area is Crown Land.
Wollaston Lake has an Acid Sensitivity Rating of 5, the highest rating provided by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources.

The long-term health of Wollaston Lake depends on the care and participation of everyone who lives on, visits, and enjoys the lake.
Healthy shorelines help filter runoff, reduce erosion, protect water quality, and provide habitat for fish, birds, amphibians, and other wildlife. Responsible boating, properly maintained septic systems, invasive-species awareness, and continued monitoring also contribute to the ecological health of the lake. The Association helps make educational information and practical resources available so that property owners and lake users can make informed decisions and help protect Wollaston Lake for generations to come.
