The Wollaston Lake Home & Cottage Association, or WLHCA, is a community association dedicated to supporting Wollaston Lake residents, cottagers, members, and visitors. The Association helps share information, support lake stewardship, encourage community involvement, and promote the long-term health and enjoyment of Wollaston Lake.
Membership is generally open to those who have an interest in Wollaston Lake and the surrounding community, including residents, seasonal property owners, cottagers, and others who wish to support the Association’s work.
Membership renewal information is available on the Renew / Membership page. Members are encouraged to review the current renewal details, payment options, and any updated membership information provided by the Association.
WLHCA membership helps support the Association’s ongoing work, including lake health initiatives, environmental monitoring, community communications, newsletters, member resources, volunteer efforts, events, and advocacy for the continued protection and enjoyment of Wollaston Lake.
The Annual General Meeting, or AGM, is open to paid WLHCA members. Meeting details, including the date, time, location, agenda, and any related documents, are posted on the AGM page when available.
WLHCA newsletters and publications are available on the Newsletter / Publications page. Historical newsletters may also be included so members can access past updates, community information, and Association records.
Volunteers are welcome and appreciated. WLHCA offers opportunities to help with newsletters, events, environmental initiatives, community outreach, photography, student volunteer hours, and general Members at Large roles. If you spot a suspected invasive species in or around Wollaston Lake, take clear photos, note the location, and report it as soon as possible. You may use the OWL form where applicable or email WLHCA at WLHCA.news@gmail.com. Invasive species sightings can also be reported through Ontario’s invasive species reporting resources.
Before launching, boaters should inspect, clean, drain, and dry boats, trailers, motors, anchors, paddles, fishing gear, and other equipment. This helps prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species between lakes and waterways.
A public boat launch is available on Wollaston Lake Road. Boaters are reminded to follow safe boating practices, respect navigation markers, avoid designated milfoil protection areas, and keep boats and equipment clean before entering the lake.
The Township maintains a public beach off Beach Lane. The beach area includes free parking, change rooms, washroom facilities, and a playground for children.
Wollaston Lake supports several fish species, including Lake Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, and Walleye.
Lake health and water quality information is available on the Lake Health and Water Quality page. This page includes information about Environmental Health Scorecards, invasive species, shoreline health, environmental reporting, and stewardship resources.
Environmental Health Scorecards are annual summaries of environmental conditions in Wollaston Lake. They compile information from WLHCA testing programs, government programs, conservation authority data, OWL Program observations, and invasive species monitoring programs.
