PUBLIC CORRECTION – WOLLASTON TOWNSHIP RESERVE FIGURES
I wish to correct financial information that I provided during the recent all-candidates meeting and in my responses to local newspapers concerning Wollaston Township’s financial reserves during my previous term of office.
I incorrectly stated that the Township’s reserves had increased to $7.2 million.
The correct figure, as reflected in the Township’s 2022 audited financial statements, was just under $2.7 million, a difference of $4.5 million from the amount I previously reported.
This error was brought to my attention on October 14, 2026, and I acknowledge that the information I previously provided was incorrect.
I sincerely apologize for this error and any confusion it may have caused.
I recognize the importance of providing residents with accurate financial information, particularly during a municipal election. With online and telephone voting having commenced on October 13, 2026, it is important that this correction be communicated promptly and as widely as possible.
I will be contacting the newspapers and the organizers of the all-candidates meeting to request that this correction be made available through the same channels where the incorrect information appeared.
I encourage residents to refer to the Township of Wollaston’s official 2022 audited financial statements for verification.
